Pushing yourself outside your comfort zone will help you get the most out of life.

If you want to feel comfortable, buy a La-Z-Boy. As you sit there enjoying the view of your ceiling, ask yourself how many calls you receive from ideal clients or how fulfilling your personal relationships have become.

Sometimes, life is about not being comfortable. When seeking to attract the ideal clientele, a life partner, or more money, it’s worth stretching your boundaries to explore places that are uncomfortable. Gifts are everywhere, especially where we least expect them. These hidden treasures are what you’re looking for when you consciously put yourself in an uncomfortable space to facilitate change.

Life is a wonderful gift we often forget to fully embrace. Life is complex; sometimes easy and often challenging. When you box yourself into thinking easy equals exciting, all you’re doing is playing it safe. I don’t suggest trying anything wildly dangerous; yet experiment with nudging yourself to try something outside of your comfort zone in order to learn more about who you are and what you are seeking.

If you don’t like cats, get a cat! It’s a sure-fire way to discover what it takes to be open, to give, and to receive unconditionally. You’ll discover your pet will teach you lessons about yourself.

“But I really, really don’t like cats!” If you feel cats are too independent and unaffectionate and come only when they’re hungry, ask yourself, “When was the last time I saw my mother?” If you answer, “Three months ago at her place for dinner,” then consider this the first lesson learned from your cat. Encourage and push yourself to experience parts of yourself and your life you are not completely comfortable with. The resulting positive changes in your behaviour and perception will well be worth any temporary discomfort.
