Prime Minister Stephen Harper will be unveiling a child and maternal health initiative at the G8 summit this week, but one that excludes funding for safe access to abortions. In recent days, several rights groups have argued that Harper’s oversight could result in generations of orphans and endanger the lives of women.
Former Prime Minister Paul Martin spoke with The Mark about why he thinks abortion should be part of Harper’s maternal health initiative, and why it should also be a G20 issue.
