North Korea was blamed for sinking a South Korean ship, but their motives remain mysterious.
When reports suggested that North Korea sunk a South Korean warship two months ago – killing 46 crewmen in the process – Kim Jong-il and his countrymen vehemently denied the allegations. In fact, their distaste for the finger-pointing has led North Korea to cut ties with South Korea – all while facing the potential wrath of the United Nations and the international community.
Dr. Donald Rickerd, associate director of the Asian Business and Management Programme at York University, spoke with The Mark about the mysterious reasons as to why North Korea may have sunk the South Korea ship in the first place.
