Universal Ideas Ep. 2: Canada's High Arctic may be the best place in the world for astronomers to study the stars. If only it was easier to get a giant telescope there.

In the latest episode of Universal Ideas, Rob Thacker speaks with Paul Hickson, the astronomer behind new research that identifies Canada's Ellesmere Island as the best spot on Earth to watch the universe through a high-powered telescope.

Paul outlines the logistics of getting a telescope so far north, and how it will operate in the harsh Arctic environment. He also gives tips for avoiding run-ins with polar bears.
