Mass hearings could be the largest the city has ever seen
Hundreds of protestors accused of committing offences at the G20 summit in June will get their day in court today. Most of the 303 people facing charges relating to vandalism and confrontations with riot police were given court dates for 9 a.m. Monday, including suspected ringleaders and those captured after police released their 20 “most wanted list.” While some advocates for the accused are concerned that the high volume of cases will jeopardize their right to a fair trial, many of the suspects are expected to show up without lawyers because they believe most of the charges will be dropped.
