In a 45-minute video the 33 men appear upbeat, animated
Late on Thursday night Chilean television aired five minutes of a video made by the 33 miners trapped underground in the north of the country. The plight of the men, who have been living in a subterranean shelter since a landslide on August 5, has captivated the world. Shot in night-vision with a camera lowered into the mine through a small hole in the surface, the footage shows the miners singing, playing dominoes, and boasting of how they’ve organized their living space. Officials say it could take four months to rescue the men.
