B.C. rape images spread on internet

Police say they’ve been unable to stop the reposting of video and pictures of an assault that took place at a rave outside of Vancouver.

RCMP in Pitt Meadows, B.C. have arrested a 16-year-old male who they say posted images of several teens raping a young girl on Facebook. The incident took place at a drug-fueled party on a rural property east of Vancouver. The victim is 16 years old and is believed to have been drugged with GHB, a common date rate drug. The teen who captured the images was released without being charged, but could face child pornography charges at a later time. The pictures and video have been removed from Facebook but have since appeared elsewhere on the internet. Police say that anyone who possesses or posts the images can be charged with child pornography offenses, but have so far been unable to stop their proliferation online.
