The brazenly gluttonous sandwich will be on KFC menus until Nov. 14.
In a sure sign of impending civilizational collapse, the infamous bun-less sandwich will be officially launched in Canada today, although some Canadian KFC’s have been unofficially selling them since last week. The sandwich, which consists of bacon and cheese between two boneless pieces of fried chicken, contains 540 calories, 30 grams of fat, and 1,740 milligrams of sodium. The recommended daily intake of sodium is 1,500 milligrams. The Double Down is technically a temporary menu item, but high demand led it to become a KFC fixture in the U.S. Here in Canada, nutritionists are concerned that the introduction of the sandwich is irresponsible, but makers of defibrillators, Spanx, and extra-large caskets are likely pleased.
