Rob Ford cuts interview mid-question

A day after being elected mayor of Toronto, Ford bailed on CBC Radio’s As It Happens so he could coach football practice.
During his campaign, Ford’s critics argued that he had neither the poise nor ideas to be the mayor of a major Canadian city. He certainly appeared less than professional yesterday when he ducked out of an interview his communications director had scheduled with the national radio show As It Happens. He appeared distracted throughout the brief interview and when asked about his plans for Toronto he repeatedly said that people were fed up with “the gravy train” but dodged substantive questions about differences in priorities between the city’s downtown and suburban dwellers. Less than four minutes into the interview he hung up the phone, saying he was “on a tight schedule” and had to coach football practice.
