Peter Dale MacDonald is already serving a life-sentence for murder at Kingston Penitentiary.
Police re-arrested MacDonald today, 16 years exactly since the body of a woman he is suspected of killing was found near Lake Ontario. It’s believed he killed three prostitutes from the Parkdale neighbourhood of Toronto named Virginia Coote, Julieanne Middleton, and Darlene Macneill, who were found strangled and half-naked in or on the shore of Lake Ontario between 1994 and 1997. In 2000, MacDonald was convicted of strangling James Campbell to death after the pair met in a park and had consensual sex at Campbell’s Toronto home. Windsor police charged him in January with the murder of Michelle Charette, and it’s believed he also murdered Byron Carr in Charlettetown more than 20 years ago.
