Ashley Kirilow is facing six more counts of fraud under $5,000.
The Burlington 23-year-old caused outrage across the country when it was discovered she never had cancer, despite setting up a personal charity and accepting thousands of dollars worth of donations from supporters. She also plucked her eyebrows and shaved her head to look like a chemotherapy patient. Today she pleaded guilty to the most serious charge against her, fraud over $5,000. She will face six other charges and sentencing at a hearing in January. Kirilow will bear the marks of her stunt for the rest of her life: tattooed on her chest, hands, and knuckles are the words “believe,” “won’t quit,” and “love life,” which she got in order to fool supporters.
