Kate Middleton has snagged her man.

Speculation had been swirling for months and today it was finally made official. Prince William will marry his girlfriend of eight years in the spring or summer of next year, 30 years after his parents were married in a lavish London ceremony. He’ll be hoping his own marriage to a commoner will go a little better of course, and some analysts predict the popular prince’s nuptials could help prolong the life of the British monarchy. The millions of pounds the royal family spends every year on crown polish and carriage rides is becoming increasingly hard to justify at a time when virtually every sector of British society is facing massive government cuts.
