Tim Horton’s Joins 21st Century, Introduces Debit

After years of stubborn resistance, the Canada's favourite coffee chain will now accept debit at most of its locations.
Although debit has been an accepted form of payment at Tim Horton’s stores in Western Canada for years, in Eastern Canada the company has long refused to introduce it, saying it would slow down service. This spurred confusion and frustration among loyal coffee drinkers east of Manitoba, and the chain has finally bowed to consumer pressure by announcing it will now accept debit payments at 90 per cent of its 3,082 Canadian locations, both over the counter and at drive-thru’s. The only exceptions will be certain stand-alone kiosks that don’t have the electronic capacity for debit machines.
