An OPP officer noticed a suspicious vehicle near Jessica Lloyd’s home shortly before she was attacked by Russell Williams.
The OPP officer saw what she believed to be a suspicious vehicle — now known to be Williams's SUV — parked in a field near Jessica Lloyd’s house, and even knocked on Lloyd’s door to see if everything was alright. When the officer received no answer, she left the scene. It’s believed Williams was in the woods behind Lloyd’s house at the time, and after watching the officer drive away he broke into the home. Williams pleaded guilty last month to murdering Lloyd after abducting and raping her, and is now serving a life sentence for two murders, two sexual assaults, and multiple break-ins. Sources said the unnamed officer is distraught that she didn’t do more to prevent the crime.
