Kenneth William Storheim turned himself in to Winnipeg police yesterday.
In October, Storheim, stepped down as the head of the Canadian diocese of the Orthodox Church of America (OCA) under a cloud of suspicion. In a letter to his congregation he suggested he was taking leave for health reasons, but the CBC reported he was under investigation for two 25-year-old sex crimes involving pre-teen boys. A warrant for his arrest was issued on Nov. 16, and yesterday Storheim flew from his Edmonton home to Winnipeg and surrended to police. The alleged offences took place in the Manitoba capital, where Storheim, now 64, served as a rector from 1984 to 1987. He also held positions in London, ON, Saskatoon, Alberta, and North Carolina.
