Ottawa Officer Appears in Second Video Assaulting Prisoner

The policewoman who was caught on tape kneeing Stacy Bonds was also captured kicking a prisoner in a separate incident.

Special Const. Melanie Morris was one of five officers who kicked and strip-searched Stacy Bonds in 2008. A recently released video of the incident has shocked Canadians and led a judge to throw out the case against Bonds. Today a judge released a second video showing Morris kicking Terry Delay in 2009 as he was being dragged to his cell. Delay was arrested for public intoxication, and while police initially alleged he attacked Morris, the security tape appears to refute that claim. The judge in the case wrote in her comments that Delay was kicked like “you wouldn't kick a dog.” Since the Bonds video became public, two other women have come forward and alleged they were mistreated by Ottawa police.
