Tammy Banovac wasn’t allowed through security at an Oklahoma City airport, but not because she was in her skivvies.
It’s unclear whether Banovac was protesting the new “enhanced pat-down” security measures at U.S. airports, but travelers in wheelchairs are usually selected for more invasive security procedures so she probably knew what she was in for when she attempted to board a flight to Phoenix Tuesday dressed only in her underwear. She wasn’t allowed on the plane because her laptop set off an alarm for nitrates, which can be used in explosives. She returned to the airport Wednesday, again clad in classy black lace, and after clearing security was allowed to proceed to her flight. She put on some pants after getting through the checkpoint. A video of the incident is now making the rounds on Youtube.
