Queen Elizabeth II’s Underwear to Be Auctioned Off

The royal knickers are expected to fetch at least $9,000 from one lucky, weird bidder.

Anyone who thought the Queen might be wearing a thong beneath her royal vestments will be disappointed. A pair of the reigning monarch’s bloomers that are about to be auctioned off in Derby, England are predictably unscandalous, but are still expected to sell for at least $9,000, the same price a Toronto-area woman paid for Queen Victoria’s undies in 2008. The knickers belonged to a Miami playboy named Joseph de Bicske Dobronyi, who said a friend gave them to him in 1968 after he found them on a private jet the Queen had recently used. Dobronyi died in June and the underwear will be auctioned off with his estate. Somewhere the Queen is saying, "We are not amused."
