What is going on with Canadian police forces these days? An incident Friday involving a Kelowna Mountie is only the latest example of questionable use of force by a Canadian officer being caught on tape. The unidentified officer was recorded booting an unarmed suspect in the head after pulling him over for allegedly firing off a shotgun on the grounds of the Harvest Golf Club. The man is employed at the club and his duties include scaring off geese using shotgun blanks. The Kelowna RCMP has now launched a criminal investigation into the officer’s conduct. Video of police in Ottawa and Toronto assaulting suspects and striking G20 protestors has prompted calls for investigations into police conduct.
