The WikiLeaks founder made a brief appearance in a London court Tuesday as he continues to fight extradition to Sweden.
Remember this guy? WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has been out of the news since last year, holed up in an English manor under house arrest after Sweden filed papers to extradite him on sex crimes charges. Assange posed for pictures but said nothing before entering the Belmarsh courthouse for a brief proceeding Tuesday that determined both sides of the extradition case are on target for his next appearance on Feb. 7. The conditions of his bail, that he stay at the country estate of TV journalist Vaughan Smith and wear an ankle monitoring bracelet, remain unchanged. He maintains that the Swedish charges are politically motivated retaliation his organization’s publication of thousands of secret U.S. diplomatic cables.
