Michael Douglas Says He’s Cancer-Free

The 66-year-old actor believes he’s beaten throat cancer.

In his first interview since undergoing chemotherapy for a walnut-sized tumor found in his throat, Douglas told NBC’s Matt Lauer that he’s on the road to a full recovery. “The odds are, with the tumor gone and what I know about this particular type of cancer, that I've got it beat," the Wall Street actor said in the interview, which airs on Tuesday. While he has at times been photographed looking gaunt and near death since completing treatment in October, on Monday several news outlets ran photos of the star bodyboarding with his family in Hawaii looking very hale indeed. Douglas was first diagnosed with stage four throat cancer in August.
