Will Ferrell Gets Job on NBC’s Office

The SNL alumnus will do a four-episode guest spot on the show to smooth the transition into the post-Steve Carell era.

Having presumably discovered that he’s squeezed every last drop of humour out of the phrase “that’s what she said,” Steve Carell is stepping down from his starring role on NBC's the Office before the end of its current season. Producers have announced that three episodes before Carell bows out Ferrell will appear on the show playing a branch manager equally inept as Carell’s character Michael Scott. Once Carell leaves, Ferrell will stay on for one more episode in a move producers hope will keep viewers’ attention on the show after the departure of its star. The pair co-starred in the 2004 hit Anchorman: the Legend of Ron Burgundy.
