The documentary filmmaker claims partners in his production company swindled him out of $2.7 million.
Has Michael Moore uncovered another conspiracy? The portly documentarian filed a lawsuit Monday alleging that Hollywood bigwigs Harvey and Bob Weinstein failed to live up to a profit-sharing agreement the trio made when they released his 2004 movie Fahrenheit 9/11. Moore and the Weinsteins formed the Fellowship Adventure group for the express purpose of releasing the film, and reportedly agreed to Moore would receive 50 per cent of the profits. The movie became the highest-grossing documentary of all time when it hauled in $222.4 million worldwide, and Moore says he’s still owed nearly $3 million. A lawyer for the Weinsteins said Moore has been paid in full and “he’s not entitled to another dime.”
