Toronto Mayor Discharged From Hospital

Rob Ford was admitted to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre Thursday suffering from kidney stones.
Ford was groggy after being treated for pain on Thursday evening, but not even a mini-health crisis could prevent the notoriously available mayor from taking calls from his constituents. His spokeswoman said Ford was still “open for business,” although he will probably not be back at City Hall for a few days. The 42-year-old mayor, who took office two months ago, had been experiencing discomfort in municipal meetings for the past few days and told staffers he would see a doctor. He authorized his doctor to waive normal doctor patient confidentiality rules and Dr. Mike Feldman told reporters there was no indication as to what caused Ford’s kidney stones, although diet can sometimes be a factor.
