Amr Moussa may have plans to run for the Egyptian presidency.

Moussa, who served as Hosni Mubarak’s foreign minister for ten years before taking the top post at the Arab League in 2001, said he would quit the League in the coming days because he has new plans. Those plans are widely believed to be seeking the presidency of Egypt, especially as Moussa expressed support for anti-government protesters in recent days. As foreign minister he was one of the more popular figures in the Mubarak government and it’s believed a deep rift with Mubarak led to his removal from cabinet and appointment to the Arab League. Moussa now joins former head of the International Atomic Energy Agency Mohamed Elbaradei and former political prisoner Ayman Nour as prime candidates to help form the new government.
