A U.S.-led archeological team believe they’ve located the fabled sunken city in the mud flats of Spain.
Can the capture of bigfoot be far behind? The story of the lost city of Atlantis ranks high up on the list of popular myths, but Richard Freund says his team has found the metropolis believed to have been submerged by a tsunami thousands of years ago. The only historical record of the city comes from Plato’s “dialogues” written around 360 BC, describing it as an island located near the Straits of Gibraltar. Freund’s team found what they believed to be models of Atlantis made by refugees who fled the tsunami, giving him confidence that the stories of the city’s existence were credible. Using deep-ground radar, Freund pinpointed the location of the city to marshland north of Cadiz, Spain.
