It turns out the key to a clear complexion is staying indoors at all times.
Who knew al Qaeda was a proponent of women's literacy? The Islamist movement has launched a magazine called Al-Shamikha, or “The Majestic Woman,” which gives Muslim women advice on everything from how to marry (find a man willing to die for Islam) to what to do after a bath (“toweling too forcibly” is discouraged). It also features interviews with the widows of martyrs and advises that the best way to achieve perfect skin is to stay covered up and not go outside. While to western eyes the glossy 31-page magazine reads like a bizarre parody of Cosmopolitan, al Qaeda has proven adept at targeting disaffected portions of the Muslim world with sophisticated public-relations campaigns.
