The polarizing Toronto mayor who won last fall’s municipal election on his promise to cut waste at City Hall has agreed to make a brief cameo in a performance of Thomas Saves the Day at the city’s Sony Centre Friday. Exactly what his role will be and the details of the script are being kept under wraps, but the show’s publicist suggested none of the content was political. Ford’s two young children are reportedly big fans of the Thomas the Tank Engine character, and his son Douglas may also appear on stage with him.
