A deal Bruce Carson allegedly attempted to broker with the Indian Affairs minister stipulated healthy profits for his 22-year-old fiancée Michele McPherson.
A lobbying scandal unfolding in Ottawa got some sizzle Friday when it was revealed a former top aide to Stephen Harper allegedly attempted to snag his sex-worker girlfriend 20 per cent of profits from a deal to sell water filtration contracts to First Nations reserves. According to a report from the APTN, Michele McPherson’s name is on a contract with Ottawa-based water company H20 Global Group that Bruce Carson witnessed. Earlier this week, the government called in the RCMP to investigate allegations that Carson lobbied the government to accept the H20 Global Group contract, breaking laws that prohibit former political staffers from lobbying for five years after leaving government. Carson left politics in 2008.
