Awish Aslam says she was booted from a Conservative campaign event because organizers found a picture of her with Michael Ignatieff.

Given that the Conservatives need to win over people who didn’t support them last time around in order to win their coveted majority, you think they’d be happy if people with ties to other parties showed up to their rallies. But at a recent Conservative campaign stop in London, Ont., Ali Aref Hamadi said he was asked to leave when an organizer spotted his NDP bumper sticker, and another attendee said she was escorted out of the same event when a staffer found a picture on her Facebook profile of her with Michael Ignatieff. Awish Aslam, 19, said she’s never voted and took the picture at a Liberal rally last week. Attendees to Conservative events must register their names online beforehand.
