The massacre at Kabul International Airport has also claimed the life of a contractor in the most recent attack on coalition forces inside a military compound.
An Afghan military officer shot and killed eight NATO troops and a contractor in Kabul on Wednesday, the latest in a string of attacks perpetrated by Afghans in military compounds. The officer, wearing his uniform, opened fire on a meeting of American and Afghan officials at Kabul International Airport, but the nationalities of the slain soldiers haven't yet been released. The Taliban has claimed that the attack was their doing, but the Afghan National Army denied he worked for the insurgent group. Two weeks ago, a man dressed in the attire of the Afghan security forces blew himself up at a similar meeting at a base in Laghman Province, killing five U.S. soldiers.
