Tired of being seen as a toady for the U.S. government, the Man of Steel will strike out on his own in the next issue.

Superman, a.k.a. the Man of Steel, Kal-El, and Clark Kent, will renounce his U.S. citizenship in the next edition of the iconic comic series. Citing his frustration over having his name and actions viewed as mechanisms of U.S. foreign policy, Superman will go before the United Nations to become a citizen of the world. “'Truth, justice and the American way'... it's just not enough anymore,” the cape-clad symbol of American superiority opines in one panel made available from Action Comics No. 900. Perhaps Canada could offer him a new home – he is, after all, the creation of Canadian-born artist Joe Shuster.
