The blast in the heart of Marrakesh, a tourist haven, appears to have been the work of a suicide bomber.

An explosion at a cafe in Marrakesh, Morocco, on Thursday killed 15 people, 10 of whom were tourists, in what appears to be a terrorist attack. Witnesses said they saw a suicide bomber blow himself up in Jamaa el-Fnaa square, a popular tourist destination, but no parties have stepped forward to claim responsibility. Six of the foreign victims were French, while the nationalities of the other four tourists are unknown. Morocco's King Mohammed has faced protests calling for democratic reform in recent months, but there does not appear to be any link between the demonstrations and the explosion.
