Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi has called for a ceasefire and negotiations with NATO.
In a rare television appearance on Saturday, Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi urged NATO to end its airstrikes, and accused the international organization of killing civilians and destroying the nation's infrastructure in a bid to take over its oil production. At times, Gadhafi's 45-minute address appeared to be a tirade against NATO and the UN. "We are the first ones who wanted and agreed on a ceasefire. But the NATO crusader airstrikes did not cease," he said. "It cannot be a ceasefire from one side." In a rebuttal to Gadhafi's address, a NATO spokeswoman called for actions, not words.
