Microsoft Corporation's shares fell their most since 2009 on Friday, thanks in part to low Xbox and tablet sales.
Microsoft shares suffered their biggest one-day fall in two years on Friday, just one day after reporting a decrease in sales for Windows operating systems. Though the tech company met Wall Street’s profit estimate and beat overall sales in its earnings report on Thursday, investors were concerned with Windows' lower personal-computer and Xbox sales. As a result of the recent setback, Microsoft is at risk of being overtaken by its old rival, IBM, in terms of market value.
