Osama bin Laden Killed

The al-Qaeda leader was finally killed by a small team of American forces on Sunday.

On Sunday, after months of pursuit, a small team of American forces was ordered by U.S. President Barack Obama to capture al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden. In the process, a 40-minute firefight occurred between the opposing sides and bin Laden, as well as two men and one woman, were killed. There were no American casualties. During last night's televised statement, Obama said the U.S. received a tip about bin Laden's whereabouts last August, as well as information on a trusted courier of bin Laden's, who would ultimately lead the Americans straight to the terrorist's compound in Pakistan. In his statement, Obama said that the operation proved "America can do whatever we set our minds to. It is the story of our history.”
