The nation's biggest satellite provider wouldn't agree to the news channel's price for carrying it.
Bell TV has taken the Sun News Network off its satellite services in a dispute over subscriber fees. The newly launched broadcaster gave Bell until today to strike an agreement over how much the telecom monolith would pay to host the 24-hour news channel. Sun was asking for more than Bell was willing to pay, and now Sun intends to complain to the CRTC that Bell discriminates against channels it doesn't own. Sun has already signed deals with Shaw, Rogers, and Videotron, leaving Bell as the lone holdout against the channel that promises “Hard News, Straight Talk” and television about as riveting as listening to your grandfather complain about taxes.
