The Film that was 20 Years in the Making

Director Jennifer Fox spent two decades filming My Reincarnation.
The key to a good documentary film is patience. With camera in hand, Jennifer Fox followed Tibetan master Chögyal Namkhai Norbu for 20 years. She collected stunning imagery and intimate interviews, but lacked the narrative necessary to tie a story together.
Only when Norbu's relationship with his son, Yeshi, began to take unexpected turns did Fox begin to see how the film might play out.
His whole life, Yeshi had rejected the claim that he was the reincarnation of his great-uncle, a famous spiritual leader. When he finally began to accept the idea, Fox knew she had a film.
