Auditor General Sheila Fraser's much-anticipated findings on summit spending will finally see the light of day.

The auditor general's report on spending at the G8 and G20 summits will be released on June 7, provided Parliament resumes on May 30 as scheduled. A draft of the report was leaked in the middle of the election campaign, and it suggested some $50 million had been misspent in Industry Minister Tony Clement's Ontario riding, which hosted the G8 summit last year. Auditor General Sheila Fraser refused to release the whole report at the time, despite calls from every political party to clear the air over her findings. Fraser's 10-year-term, however, comes to an end on May 30, meaning her deputy, John Wiersema, will table the document.
