The game's dictionary gets its first update since 2007, and everything from 'Myspace' to 'innit' are now in play.
The brains behind Scrabble, ruiner of family gatherings, have added more than 3,000 new terms to the game's official dictionary, meaning lifelong friendships can now be broken over terms such as “Facebook,” “thang,” and “grrl.” The Collins Official Scrabble Words book was updated for the first time since 2007, and incorporates a lot of words related to technology and ones from other languages that have slowly crept into English. Words such as “Qin” (a Chinese musical instrument) and “Fiqh” (an Arabic word for the spread of Sharia law) will also give players backed into a “U”-less corner new options for using the 10-point ''Q” tile.
