Two of Ruth Ellen Brosseau's rivals – whom she's presumably never met – are complaining to Elections Canada over questionable signatures.
A former Bloc Québécois MP and an unsuccessful Liberal candidate, in a reckless coalition of sorts, are trying to get Elections Canada to review whether Ruth Ellen Brosseau – who took a mid-campaign trip to Vegas, can't speak French, and has never been to the riding she just won – did indeed falsify two signatures on her nomination papers. Guy André, the former MP for Berthierville-Maskinongé who lost to Brosseau last week, and Liberal challenger Francine Gaudet both said they planned to submit complaints to the electoral watchdog. A local newspaper quoted André as saying that he has five people who will sign affidavits saying they never signed Brosseau's paperwork, which needs 100 signatures from people in the riding in order to be legitimate.
