Nothing's official, but the Mounties continue to look for ways to record suspects without encumbering officers.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police are looking into whether their officers should be equipped with tiny video cameras to record interactions with potential suspects. The planned ear-mounted cameras follow attempts at using cameras attached to Tasers and to officers' chests, but both of those trials were abandoned after the Mounties found the technology lacking. There's no word on when or if the technology will be incorporated in the field. Privacy concerns are bound to arise over the use of the cameras, but few details are available beyond what Canadian Press uncovered through an access-to-information request.
