James Moore targets Living With Lions' album 'Holy Shit' after the band received $13,000 from the government.
Heritage Minister James Moore is raising a stink over B.C. pop-punk band Living With Lions using government funding to release an album that he says is derogatory toward Christians. The album, Holy Shit, is made to look like a Bible and features a picture of a piece of feces imitating the ascension of Jesus Christ. The album, which was released on Tuesday, was partly paid for by the Foundation Assisting Canadian Talent on Recordings, or FACTOR, a government arts agency. The band's label says the minister is taking the whole matter far too seriously (the disc is subtitled “The Poo Testament”) and that none of the lyrics addresses Christianity at all. Moore has demanded that the president of FACTOR investigate why the band was funded.
