If another militant leader was found in Pakistan, U.S. president would do it all over again.
In a wide-ranging discussion, U.S. President Barack Obama told the BBC Saturday that, despite the current tensions between the U.S. and Pakistan, he "would repeat the bin Laden raid." Though Obama recognizes and respects the sovereignty of Pakistan, he said his first concern is the security of the United States and if another militant leader was found in Pakistan, he would order a similar operation to that which killed Osama bin Laden. "We cannot allow someone who is actively planning to kill our people or our allies' people," Obama told the BBC. "We can't allow those kind of active plans to come to fruition without us taking some action." Earlier this month, Pakistani MPs approved a resolution condemning the bin Laden raid, vowing to "no longer tolerate such actions and a repeat of unilateral measures could have dire consequences for peace and security in the region and the world."
