The bilateral security forum will meet every few months to assess future risks and share intelligence.
U.S. President Barack Obama will announce the formation of a joint U.S.-Britain security council when he visits London on Tuesday. The new council allows the two countries to work closely together and share intelligence on security challenges, such as potential terrorist threats. The Americans requested the initiative and it's considered to be the first time Washington has been involved with a bilateral security forum. The new council will meet every few months and it's led by Obama's national security adviser, Tom Donilon, and his British counterpart, Peter Ricketts.
