Punk Band Returns Government Grant

Hopefully, Living With Lions won't need the $13,000 after all the free, inadvertent publicity given to them by James Moore.

Living With Lions, the pop-punk band that ticked off Heritage Minister James Moore for using government funding to help produce an album entitled Holy Shit: The Poo Testament, have decided to return the $13,000 grant. The Vancouver-based band's label said it was giving back the Foundation Assisting Canadian Talent on Recordings, or FACTOR, grant to maintain their creative integrity and to not draw negative attention to FACTOR, which funds countless independent artists across the country. Moore was livid last week over the album's title and artwork, which includes a drawing of a piece of feces ascending into heaven à la Jesus Christ, claiming it was derogatory to Christians.
