Canada Post Workers to Strike?

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers says Canada Post is not seriously discussing its bargaining points.

Despite negotiations on Saturday between Canada Post and its employees, a statement on the website of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers said members should be prepared to strike in the "very near future." The statement goes on to say that "there is no indication that (Canada Post Corporation) is prepared to seriously discuss the real problems facing postal workers." Sticking points include workplace safety and wages for new employees. The union must give 72 hours' notice before its members can walk off the job.
