Pressure is mounting on the Gadhafi regime to sign a ceasefire deal as the African Union comes to town.
South African President Jacob Zuma has arrived in Libya to attempt to broker a peace deal between Moammar Gadhafi's regime and rebel forces fighting for his ouster, while eight Libyan generals have reportedly defected to Italy. The identities of the generals haven't been made public, but their defection is another indication in the growing turmoil within the Gadhafi regime, which has been targeted by daily NATO air raids in recent weeks. Zuma, arriving in Tripoli on behalf of the African Union, is hoping to hammer out a ceasefire to halt fighting that's ravaged Libya for nearly five months. The African Union has previously negotiated an end to post-election violence in Kenya and reached a pact between Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe and opposition leader Yoweri Museveni.
