Ilyas Kashmiri's followers released a statement saying their leader was killed by a U.S. drone on Friday.

Described as one of the most dangerous militants in the world, al-Qaeda's Ilyas Kashmiri was killed in a U.S. drone attack on Friday in Pakistan, according to Pakistani intelligence and media. "We are sure that he was killed. Now we are trying to retrieve the bodies,” said the Pakistani intelligence official. “We want to get photographs of the bodies. The Pakistani Taliban said earlier that reports of Kashmiri's death were not accurate. This is not the first time Kashmiri has been reported dead. In 2009, similar reports of his death by a drone turned out to be false. However the group that Kashmiri heads, Harkat-ul Jihad Islami, released a statement saying their leader had been killed.
