Fake Press Release Says Harper Choked on Breakfast

A statement saying the PM had to be taken to hospital was posted to the official website of the Conservative party this morning.

No, Prime Minister Stephen Harper didn't have to be rushed to a hospital because he choked on a piece of hash brown during breakfast, despite what the Conservatives' website might have said this morning. It appears as though hackers breached the party's official website to post a news release saying Harper couldn't quite get a piece of hash brown down this morning while eating breakfast with his family and was taken to “Toronto General Hospital,” where he was expected to make a full recovery. The Tories have yet to clarify what happened to their site after the Twitter account of at least one MP, Chris Alexander, linked to the news release.
